An island of dreams

When you are a child, you do not like to listen to any tales, stories without fairies, as dominating characters, heroes, or as heroines in the stories you hear.

But when you become a teen or an adult, in the latter stage of your life, soon after you complete ‘ the childhood’, you begin to enjoy the real characters you meet, gurus for instance other than your father.

Technology, I believe takes you around universe via various sources. Newest knowledge builds magic before your eyes. An Island is always a very dreamy and specific piece of land for me; I cannot just point out a single reason for that.

Duwa , Dupatha,  these are the words that we use in Sinhala. Madol duwa , Ranmuthu Duwa ; these creations took me around an Island as a child , letting me forgetting that I am too an islander in a big community called ‘Sri Lanka. It is little difficult to talk about an island if you don’t really feel or understand ‘its structure, formation, not just the ‘physical or geographical’ manifestations.

I truly like to use the term community in this my explanations, instead of using ‘country’ not because of anything but because of this universe is already has converted in to a global community.

Madolduwa is written by Mr. Martin Wickramasinghe that is not a man made duwa or an Island. You can create an imaginary island through the stories you write to the kids, fictions you write for any age categories of individuals, in the kiddies’ movies or heroic movies you create for your specific fan base.

have you heard about this Island before

Once there was an island made of chocolates. The walls of the house of Mr. Chocolate and Mrs. Chocolate were built using chocolate bars. The windows were designed in creamy milky chocolates and the outer cover of the roof was decorated in Icing Sugar. The sun never harmed the house of Mr. and Mrs. Chocolate so the walls did not melt for any reason. The 'Mountain Ice' was situated close to this house of Mr. and Mrs. Chocolate so that the mountain provide this chocolate house of chocolate Island a huge protection. Mr. and Mrs. Chocolate had two sons named, Pebbles and Bubbles. The two children were studying at the University of 'Chocolate Technology' .............

Story is to be continued ……………………..

Your imagination has the power to takes you hear and there in this universe in multi million ways. As a teen I truly enjoyed reading ‘the tourist magazines’, the magazines that was published by hoteliers for instance about their room facilities, the facilities built on Sea surfaces on see-through glasses. Tourism is one of the main income that a country can think of it is not just an imaginary thing, unrealistic or dreamy thing.

The technology and the architecture combination can do and magic in any true land. A man too can build an island full of things, using ‘all in one’ technology, strategy. Hotels, shopping malls, movie theaters, Opera Houses, Stages, Art Galleries, I can dream of an Island full of many things.

An Island in the very close vicinity of our country, within the boundary of our country is not anymore a dream. This can be another linking port to world this would tighten the bonds with another communities.

Lets not forget the Islands in the Northern Part of this country we live, lets not just grow ‘tobacco or onion’ in those Islands. Let’s soon start ‘humanizing’ those island, please, lets turn the Delft , Analaitivu, Punkudutivu, Mandaitivu, Kayts in to eye catching tourist destinations

Such not unrealistic to achieve …………………….
